About Sima 

Her name is Sima and it means “Listener” in Scottish. Born in the U.S. and raised in West Africa (Guinea). Sima moved back to the US in 1997 to further her studies. Due to unfortunate circumstances, she was placed in foster-care , which is where she immediately noticed the declining hope, confidence and ambition of her fellow foster peers . This experience informed her decision to help people change their distorted thinking patterns and false beliefs so they can live healthier lives. Sima’s goal is to help as many individuals and families achieve their goals . She has dedicated her future to doing just that in her practice. One of Sima’s most unique attributes is her multicultural background and ability to speaks several languages. Sima speaks English, French, Susu, Malenke/Mandinka and Kpele.
 
Sima’s experiences as a mental health clinician, social worker, life coach and client advocate motivated her to developed a unique ability to engage and develop trust with clients. Sima’s rapport building skills allows clients to be comfortable and open up to her and most importantly encourage self-awareness in themselves. This ability facilitates change and the adaptation process.  While working with clients, Sima uses her own experiences to relate to clients and assist clients in unraveling and identifying effective coping mechanism.

Sima’s experiences have taught her how essential self-confidence is to living a productive life. Self-confidence is what Sima relied on as a child and what she continues to rely on. Through years of multiples crisis, life events and obstacles, self –confidence and resilience enabled Sima to overcome many challenges.  She has helped and continues to help clients, friends and families throughout her life. Now, She is ready to extend her services by hiring like minded clinicians.

 Sima has supported , advocated and empowered the underserved, the mentally ill, troubled teenagers, mothers etc… Sima noticed that they all have one thing in common, which is “The need to be heard and understood”. Her listening skills and ability to empathize with clients allows her to do just that. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  Sima also loves traveling and learning  about new cultures.
