About
Dr. Matise is a counselor educator and supervisor for the School of Counseling at Walden University. He has held positions in several graduate counseling programs. He has served in the counseling field, in various capacities, for over 20 years, with experience working as a pastoral counselor, mental health counselor, addictions counselor, counselor educator, and supervisor. As a spiritually-informed counselor and a certified end-of-life Doula.
*He has worked in various counseling settings, and specializes in the areas of depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, grief, loss, and life transitions. He is currently in private practice, working primarily with senior adults and couples therapy.
Dr. Matise received his B.S. from The Citadel Military College and has a Master of Divinity and an M.S. in Community Counseling. He did post-graduate work at the University of Northern Colorado, earning a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.
