About

Do you long to live from your heart and soul?   Do you wonder what your life has been about thus far?    Do you worry or fret over thoughts or behavior patterns while trying to be true to what matters? How do you manage the ordinary and not-so-ordinary stresses, the visible and invisible losses?  Do you need support for overwhelming feelings or the lack of certainty that comes as youth turns into an aging process?  Do issues past, present or future beg for clarification or impact your life?  Do you just need someone to bounce things around with for best possible planning as you age exuberantly and wisely?  If you’re struggling to maintain balance in the ever-changing uncertainty of today’s world or if you simply have had a bump in the road, what if therapy could help create changes that make a difference.  Perhaps together we can look at all of it and gain some insight into what still matters and how to create more of what matters to you.

My twenty years of private professional practice include populations from age 15 to 90.  I retired from the Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center where I worked with older veterans and their families as an individual and group therapist.  My interest and life-long study involves systems and developmental stages of aging as well as the individual evolving.  My personal life experience and knowledge bridges rural agricultural farming, entrepreneur families with today’s fast-paced culture, urban life & the systems we all exist within. I am from an extremely large extended family and have occupied many roles through the years. I am semi-retired and love working with people to make create ideas and ways to connect to themselves, others and the world.

Services

I have worked in the healing arts field, combining healing modalities, expressive arts, music with psychotherapy for 30 years. Part of my focused specialty has been with trauma, loss, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic growth. I have been in private practice for 20 yrs. I am certified in Mental Health with Aging; I have extensive certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which is based on what still matters to you. My training in trauma, loss and grief have been life-long. I offer creativity, music, arts-based experientials with body somatic/emotions to help you integrate the work of your body-mind and heart-soul. In first few sessions, we explore what brought you; decide what fits your needs. We'll look at how thoughts, emotions, beliefs impact your choices; and how to make lasting changes. I work with clients seeking ways to manage life transitions, stress, anxiety, loss/grief, post- traumatic stress. I collaborate with you to explore gratitude, resiliency, post traumatic growth, integrity, values and meaning within life's uncertainty and experiences. Together, we work to find and maintain a more balanced and focused lifestyle during your aging process. Most of my clients report lasting changes and transformations.
